Committee Continues Hearings On Blunt's Insure Missouri Plan

The House Special Committee on Healthcare Transformation has scheduled 23 hearings to discuss Gov. Matt Blunt's Insure Missouri proposal. The fifth, sixth and seventh hearings were held this week, and the remaining 16 are scheduled through the end of February. Testimony was heard this week from the following.

• Carl Bearden, Missouri state director, Americans for Prosperity
• Sidney D. Watson, law professor, Saint Louis University School of Law
• Brent Kabler, research manager, and John Korte, regulatory manager, Missouri Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions & Professional Registration
• William Niblack, research manager, Missouri Department of Economic Development

MHA will testify before the committee next week.
